TL;DRThe 20 lowest-added-sugar yogurts in our catalog — every product here has 0.5g or less added sugar per serving, ranked ascending. Average across the full yogurts category is 1.6g. The American Heart Association recommends kids ages 2–18 keep added sugar under 25g per day.
The "no added sugar" yogurt aisle is smaller than it should be. Most "kids yogurt" pouches and cups add 7–12g of sugar on top of the 6g of natural lactose — pushing a single serving past 15g of total sugar, which is most of a child's daily American Heart Association allowance (25g for ages 2–18, zero for under 2) in one snack.
Of the 84 yogurts in our catalog, 2% contain more than 5g of added sugar per serving. Average added sugar across the category sits near 1.6g per serving, driven up by the kid-marketed sweetened tubes and pouches. The single highest-sugar yogurt in our pool is Activia Activia Strawberry Probiotic Yogurt at 14g.
For this hub we filtered to Tier A and Tier B only — yogurts with 0g of added sugar confirmed on the nutrition label. That yields 3 sugar-free options (less than 0.5g total sugar, mostly plant-based unsweetened) and 44 with zero added sugar but natural lactose intact (plain dairy yogurts). We excluded "low sugar" options at 1–3g added sugar to stay aligned with the search intent: parents looking for "no added sugar yogurt" want the clean nutrition label, not a slightly-less-sweet version.
A few brands dominate this list. Stonyfield YoBaby and Siggi's Plain are the most widely-distributed whole-milk yogurts with 0g added sugar. Fage Total (5% whole-milk Greek) is the go-to higher-protein plain pick. For plant-based, Forager Project unsweetened cashew yogurt and Kite Hill unsweetened almond yogurt are the cleanest dairy-free options. For older kids who want flavored yogurt with no added sugar, look for "Whole Milk Plain" plus a drizzle of real fruit at home — the prepackaged "kids yogurt" with cartoon characters on the label almost never clears Tier B.
Below is every yogurt in our database with 0g of added sugar on the label, sorted by total sugar (lowest first). Plain whole-milk dairy and unsweetened plant-based picks share the list.
