TL;DRThe 20 lowest-added-sugar snacks in our catalog — every product here has 0.5g or less added sugar per serving, ranked ascending. Average across the full snacks category is 1.2g. The American Heart Association recommends kids ages 2–18 keep added sugar under 25g per day.
"Sugar-free" on the front of a kids snack package usually means "uses a sugar substitute." On this list, we mean it literally: snacks where the Nutrition Facts panel shows 0g added sugar and less than 0.5g total sugar per serving — the FDA threshold for a true "sugar-free" claim.
Of the 2325 kid snacks in our catalog, 3% have more than 5g of added sugar per serving. Average added sugar across the catalog sits near 1.2g per serving. For this hub we filtered to Tier A (less than 0.5g total sugar — genuinely sugar-free) and Tier B (0g added sugar confirmed on label, may have natural lactose or fruit sugar). That gives 471 truly sugar-free snacks and 900 with zero added sugar.
The Tier A bucket is mostly savory: crackers, chips, seaweed, cheese, meat sticks, plain nuts, and some plant-based puffs. Tier B includes the savory set plus plain whole-milk yogurt (0g added sugar, ~6g natural lactose) and a small set of unsweetened fruit-only snacks. Both tiers are appropriate for the AAP under-2 "zero added sugar" guideline and well within the AHA 25g/day cap for older kids.
Standout brands run across the list. For crackers/chips: Pipcorn (cheese balls, 0g sugar), Wilde Brands (chicken protein chips, 0g sugar), Late July (some varieties), Trader Joe's Savory Squares. For meat sticks: Chomps (most varieties), Epic Provisions, Country Archer Kid. For seaweed: gimme, SeaSnax, Annie Chun's — most original-flavor seaweed is 0g added sugar. For cheese: Babybel, plain Sargento sticks, Moon Cheese. For pouches: Plum Organics single-ingredient (sweet potato, pumpkin), Serenity Kids savory pouches.
Below is every kid snack in our database with 0g added sugar on the label, sorted by total sugar ascending (Tier A first). This is the genuine sugar-free shelf — useful as a daily shopping list, not just an "occasional treat" list.
